Journalist had a live mammogram and discovers that he has cancer

She just wanted to inform without imagining that the diagnosis was terrifying of the terrible cancer

A journalist named Ali Meyer never imagined that a mammogram would be done through a live broadcast, as part of the realism of her report she did it with great professionalism for her audience to raise awareness that women should go for mammograms to detect cancer time. She never imagined that the results would come out positive for her.

This story went viral in 2018, she was doing a program to promote early detection of breast cancer. For her it was sad news that changed her life completely, as she would undergo a hard process with cancer treatments.

Now that 12 months have passed since that sad news, Ali says that she took the proper treatment and can now say that she is doing very well. “It’s been almost a year since my first mammogram. I’m 41 and this week I had my second annual screening mammogram…since my first cancer diagnosis last year."

Everything’s fine. Girls, I had no family history, lumps, worries, no genetic mutation due to breast cancer. I was a perfectly healthy 40 year old woman with zero suspicion that I had cancer cells in my body. And anyway…there they were…tiny cancerous calcifications within the milk ducts of my right breast. For days, I wished I hadn’t had a mammogram.

I just wish I hadn’t known. Of course, in the end, I am grateful that I found the disease at its earliest stage and that my treatment was made easier by the timely diagnosis. It is October. Love yourself enough to take care of your body”, reads Ali’s message remembering that difficult moment.

Fortunately, it was detected in time and she has been able to win the battle against cancer, she can say that she feels victorious for saving her life, thanks to that mammogram that was performed.

“I will never stop doing mammograms. I will never stop telling women to take care of their bodies and schedule their mammograms.”
