It was last Friday, when a magistrate decreed preventive detention for the former FC Barcelona star and her brother after a police raid two days earlier in the hotel room in the Paraguayan capital where they were staying.

During the review, the agents found ‘several documents’, among which were Paraguayan identity cards and passports in the name of the former athlete and his family member.

According to information from various local media, Judge Clara Ruíz Díaz, ruled said sanction for presenting a flight danger during the investigation process, so Ronaldinho and his brother will be in the building of the Specialized Group of the National Police of Paraguay. This headquarters welcomes criminals with drug trafficking causes and where the brothers spent their first night as defendants on Friday.

It should be noted that the football legend and his brother testified before the Paraguayan Attorney’s Office on Thursday morning and pointed out that the one who provided them with the documents was the businessman Wilmondes Sous Lira, who is also in custody. Ronaldinho could spend several months in prison or pay a fine, the amount of which is established by the Paraguayan Penal Code.
