After 20 Years Together I Found Out I Was A Scammer

At a family dinner, a cousin of my husband confronted him, asking for an explanation in the face of growing rumors that he was a scammer.

He denied everything and vowed not to be involved in "dirty" business. I believed his explanations and we moved on.

A year later the Justice raided our house, they took computers, the car, and valuables. This was followed by a criminal trial for fraud and 5 years in prison.

I was devastated. Fortunately, both my family and his, supported me.

I decided to separate in full trial. I didn’t recognize my husband as a scammer. I fell out of love right away, everything he did hurt me, and I needed to assert myself as a woman and a mother.

My children were grown up so we moved to another city where I looked for a job. Until then she had always been a homemaker.

I met a co-worker and we were married 2 years later.

I carry my first husband in my heart and I always think about it because we share 20 years. But he couldn’t stand being around someone who had been a great con man. Louise

Some argue that no one truly knows their partner. At most 30 to 40% of your life. Like the visible tip of icebergs.
Is it because we hide our vulnerabilities, or because we do not want to see the difficulties of the other that can threaten our illusions, projects, securities?

If you think that the story can contribute something to other people, share it.
