According to research carried out by scientists from the Complutense University of Madrid and the Spanish Academy of Nutrition, the consumption of between 200 and 500 milliters of beer daily can be included as part of a healthy and balanced diet .

In the study, more than 400 adults between 18 and 50 years of age were subjected to different tests to know their nutritional status as well as to study their drinking habits .

A 200 milliliter pint of beer can provide only 84 calories , a very low portion of the caloric intake that an adult generally needs per day, and has more beneficial effects on nutrition.

In their research, the scientists came to the conclusion that those people who drink beer regularly tend to have much healthier eating habits than people who usually consume other types of beverages, such as soft drinks or high-alcoholic spirits.

Moderate and frequent consumption is usually included in healthy people within a healthy and balanced diet . Frequent drinkers are also more likely to consume a more balanced range of foods, which influences the level of well-being they feel.
