Mexico Reaches 282,283 Positive Cases of Covid-19

The country has a new daily record of COVID-19 cases with 7,280 infections

Mexico registered 7,280 cases of COVID-19 this Thursday to establish a new daily record of infections, which accumulated 282,283 infections, with a percentage growth of 2.6% in the last 24 hours.

The new infections reported on this day exceed the 6,995 that were registered the previous day and represent a new daily mark for the second consecutive day.

The health authorities reported 33,526 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic with an increase of 730 deaths in the last 24 hours, a 2.2% percentage increase in one day; in addition to 2,283 suspicious deaths that have pending results.

Mexico City remains the entity with the highest number of accumulated cases with 55,344, which represents a fifth of the country’s cases. It is followed by the states of Mexico (40,957), Tabasco (13,622), Puebla (13,301) and Veracruz (13,032), authorities said.

In the daily report on the coronavirus published by the Ministry of Health, 80,988 suspected cases were reported, 95 more than those registered the previous day, and which correspond to people who have been waiting for the result of their laboratory tests since June.

The health authorities indicated that in the country there is a report of 29,129 active cases, which are patients with symptoms developed in the last 14 days, 1,238 more sick compared to the 27,891 the day before.

The patients recovered from the disease to date are 172,192, representing 61% of the total accumulated cases, the authorities indicated.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 699,994 patients have been studied, of which 336,373 had a negative result.

Since last June 1, Mexico has been in a new stage in the fight against the pandemic, which is signified by the application of an epidemiological traffic light with four colors ranging from red for maximum risk to orange for high risk; in the middle, yellow and green with minimal risk.
