Mexican film diva Silvia Pinal, 89, is improving in hospital after being hospitalized on Sunday, apparently for high blood pressure problems, a relative reported Tuesday.
"He’s better, I don’t know anything else, they are doing studies and so on, but he’s fine," his daughter-in-law, Mayela Laguna, mentioned in a Mexican television program.
Mayela Laguna, wife of Luis Enrique Guzmán, refused to give more details about the hospitalization.
As reported by local media, the first actress entered Hospital Ángeles in the San Ángel neighborhood of Mexico City, last Sunday night.
It was reported that Pinal arrived at the scene with high blood pressure, so she had to be hospitalized, a situation that was confirmed by Mayela Laguna.
"She arrived with high blood pressure but she is stabilized and calm," said Laguna, who said she had been with her mother-in-law minutes before the interview and had no news of when the actress would be discharged.
Likewise, the family member explained that the clan has remained united and thanked the public for keeping up with the health of her mother-in-law, whom she characterized as a diva and an icon of Mexican culture.
Also actress Sylvia Pasquel, Silvia Pinal’s daughter, mentioned that her mother’s hospitalization was a "routine checkup."
"Regarding the information that my mom is in the hospital, it is only for routine examinations, everything is fine," Pasquel responded to the media on Monday.
Recently, the family got together to celebrate the birthday of Michelle Salas, Silvia Pinal’s great-granddaughter and who has had a difficult time due to the biographical project about her father, "Luis Miguel, the series."
And among other adversities that the family has experienced, is the legal lawsuit initiated by Frida Sofía, Silvia Pinal’s granddaughter, against her mother, Alejandra, and her grandfather Enrique Guzmán.
